At Americare, we recognize that while dementia is a broad umbrella of memory impairment, each case of dementia is different and may require special needs and attention. We also understand that dementia does not mean Alzheimer’s, and thus, short term memory loss does not mean long term memory loss.
We preserve the integrity of those with dementia by understanding their special memory disorientation and possible disorders while promoting comfort and assurance to help overcome the fear and insecurity resulting from their confusion.
While each resident may experience different levels of dementia (high to low functioning), we promote independence by encouraging every resident to perform their activities of daily living as appropriate. We also provide mental and physical stimulation fit for all levels of dementia.
Our objective is to give each resident with dementia personalized attention and comfort by knowing they are safe and well-cared for.
